I updated my theme to the new version and didn’t back it up first. Oops. When I updated the theme, it broke. I had to switch it to my backup. So the blog might look a little different for a while.
Here are some pics of the partially completed Republic Attack Cruiser that Ethan’s papa got him for Christmas. This is about a hour or so into the build.
I was looking through my usual set of blogs and saw a post about a laser cats video which reminded me of a classic video I remember showing to wife the day before she gave birth to our son. The infamous Star Wars Kid remixed with light saber and blaster action.
Here is the original Star Wars Kid video.
Monday Ethan and I went to the Lego store in Frisco, TX. It was a bit of a drive to get there but Ethan had a blast doing 70mph up the Dallas North Tollway which is not to straight at times. The prices were cheaper than I thought they would be. They didn’t have most of the Legos you would find in Walmart or Target, mostly limited edition items. I am going to have to save up to get the set that comes with Admiral Akbar, “It’s a trap!!”, he’s my favorite.
Here are some pics I took with my iPhone. I should have used a gallery to display all the pics but my pc is acting up and I had to do this post from my iPhone.
This is where you get to create your own mini-fig person. Not much of a selection of pieces. Looked like it had been picked through pretty good. I told Ethan we’ll come back after Christmas when it is a little less crazy.
Ethan with his mini-fig creations.
The big Bionicle guy before.
And after compared to a normal sized Bionicle.
Here is a sign Ethan and I saw at an outdoors store at the Frisco mall. I almost missed what it said the first time I read it. Click picture for full size.
Yesterday was a very sad day. My Xbox 360 died.
(This is not the Xbox’s normal place. I moved it here to take the pic. It usually is in a much better vented spot by itself)It had been locking up during games for the past few weeks, but I figured it was because I hadn’t cleaned the side vents for a while. I told Ethan to not use it and unplugged it from the power supply just to make sure. When I went to blow out the dust I found there was very little at all collected. I went ahead and got everything cleaned up and plugged back in yesterday morning and fired it up. It made it through about 2 seconds of the start up screen when it belted out a crackly digital sounding screech, pixelated the screen, and then froze. My mouthdropped open and I had that flip flop feeling in my stomach. The only good so far was the ring of death had not shown up.
I got on the intertubes and tried the trouble shooting steps and it always kept freezing during the start up. And finally after about the 10th reboot the Ring-o-Death showed up. At least since the Ring-o-Death was here I will get my Xbox fixed or replaced for free. Now I just have to deal with no Xbox for the next 14-21 days as per the Xbox repair FAQ states as the average turn around time:(
I guess I will have to get to know Ethan’s WII a little better.
